Step Up Conference: Moving Racial Equity Forward

STEP UP is a one day conference designed to raise awareness and provide knowledge and skills to advance racial equity within Snohomish County and beyond. Leadership Snohomish County brings together renowned speakers and presenters from around the country. The goal is for attendees to gain a deeper understanding and new perspectives about racial equity and related social justice issues that intersect with race, as well as, gain innovative tools on how to address systemic racism in their respective organizations and institutions across all sectors. Workshops will cover a variety of topics including how to address institutional racism, white supremacy cultural norms, microaggressions, decolonization of education, the intersection of race and LGBTQIA, Systems Change and more. The Keynote Speakers for 2020 are Victor Lewis and Shumeca Pickett.

Adults and youth from all backgrounds and experiences are welcomed and encouraged to attend. The conference was created with the intention of offering workshops for people with different learning interests and levels of knowledge and experiences to advance racial equity. Whether you’re new to the discussion or a long time expert, Step Up is for you.
