one day workshops

Leadership Snohomish County is excited to offer a unique opportunity for non-residents to participate in our Leadership for Racial Equity (LFRE) program. This is also a flexible and convenient option for those who may not be able to commit to the full program or who wish to focus on specific skills. As part of this transformative initiative, we are offering one-day workshops that can be attended virtually. These workshops are designed to build and strengthen the capacity of leaders like you to drive real, sustainable systemic change toward racial equity within your respective organizations or institutions.

By attending these workshops, you will have the opportunity to join students who are going through the LFRE program and explore contemporary local issues while cultivating innovative leadership strategies for active engagement and change management. The curriculum leverages storytelling, informative lectures, interactive sessions, discussions, and role-plays that stimulate experiential learning. Furthermore, you will gain access to various tools, resources, and strategies that will facilitate your professional growth and capacity to lead for culture and engagement. (Here’s who we are, here’s our culture).

The cost of each workshop is $675. However, if you register for all three workshops, the price is reduced to $625 per workshop ($150 savings).

Leadership for Racial Equity: Tools and Practices

Have you ever been nervous or anxious as you’re navigating conversations connected to race and identity? This workshop aims to alleviate those fears by offering guidance on what to say, how to say it, and when to engage in these conversations. Dive into the intricate world of tools and practices for racial equity with this one-day virtual course, "Leadership for Racial Equity: Tools and Practices". The objective is to equip participants with confidence and the ability to navigate challenging conversations related to identity. Start your day with an in-depth exploration of racial equity analysis and organizational assessments (Where are you now?). Afterward, partake in a hands-on workshop on adaptive leadership that focuses on developing flexible and responsive strategies. The course sheds light on practical experiences, followed by an interactive session on organizational change practices and leadership mapping. This enriching course will leave you with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively address racial equity in your institution.

Sustaining Racial Equity: Personal and Institutional Strategies

Have you ever attended a conference where you felt excited about the potential for change, only to find that the initial enthusiasm waned after a week or two?

Join the "Sustaining Racial Equity: Personal and Institutional Strategies" virtual course, which targets leaders who are eager to sustain racial equity at both personal and institutional levels. The objective is to cultivate strategies that support personal well-being and establish shared values for racial equity. Engage in an opening session on sustaining leadership through personal well-being and a courageous spirit. This is followed by a candid discussion on overcoming challenges in institutional change. In the afternoon, attend a workshop on operationalizing shared value systems for racial equity. The course concludes with a session on building networks of equity guardians, fostering collaborative efforts for lasting change.

Collaborative Leadership for Racial Equity: Shared Learning and Action Plans

How do we look at our teams and support this work? Unlock the potential of collaborative leadership with the “Collaborative Leadership for Racial Equity: Shared Learning and Action Plans” virtual course. The objective is to strengthen collaboration among leaders who are devoted to racial equity. Kick off the day with a cross-pollination session, an innovative space for participants to share their ideas and best practices. This is followed by a workshop on developing intentional strategies to thrive as leaders for racial equity. In the afternoon, showcase your action plans for institutional change through individual or group presentations. Conclude the day with a collaborative discussion that encourages shared learning and sets the stage for continued collaboration and systemic change in the realm of racial equity.
